We developed the brand design for “Nachtflimmern”—Burghausen’s first drive-in movie theater. The project was launched in May 2020, in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic and amid social distancing restrictions and the closure of cultural venues.
Nachtflimmern was initiated by the cultural association Lightning Bird e.V., which organizes the drive-in theater in collaboration with a local event technician, a regional restaurateur, and a movie theater owner. The goal was to draw attention to the situation facing restaurateurs and cultural professionals and to support them using the proceeds from the drive-in theater. We supported this volunteer-driven project with services in the areas of naming, branding, and online marketing. In addition to developing the name “Nachtflimmern,” we created a brand identity that conveys a nostalgic retro vibe. We also built the website and implemented targeted social media marketing campaigns for each film screening.
