A communications agency from Munich and Hamburg.
Since 2013, we have been developing brands, campaigns, digital platforms, content, experiences and communication for companies that don’t want to look like everyone else.
We don’t exist because the world needed another agency.
But because too much out there was simply too meaningless and unimportant for us.
Where we come from. Who we are today.
A name that actually describes pretty well what makes us tick. Not preppy. Not conformist. Not “that’s just how it’s done”. And definitely not the agency that suddenly softens every good idea during the third correction run.
We wanted to create communication that stands out – but not at any price. Communication that can be loud if it has something to say. And that doesn’t just look pretty, but actually makes a difference.
It all started as
WEDER & NØCH.
Today we are
MATTER & LØUT.
Because that is exactly our claim.
MATTER stands for substance. For strategy. For clarity. For communication with meaning.
LØUT stands for visibility. For courage. For attitude. And for ideas that don’t get lost in the shuffle.
Because what has nothing to say doesn’t have to be loud.
And what nobody notices is ultimately useless.
Fortunately, usually only once. We have been communicating for companies since 2013. We know how projects fail. How brands dilute. What websites look like when too many people have their say at the same time. And how campaigns sound when no one wants to offend. That’s why we believe in clarity now more than ever. In attitude. In good ideas. And that communication sometimes needs a little courage.
We have already made almost
every mistake.
We don’t believe
in agency bullshit.
Not buzzword bingo. Not PowerPoint presentations without meaning. And not communication that is only designed to disturb as few people as possible. We believe in honest collaboration. In direct words. In good design. In strong ideas. And that strategy, creation, technology and communication belong together.
That’s why strategists, designers, developers, creatives, marketers and project managers don’t work side by side, but together. Because the best ideas are rarely created in silos, but around a shared table!
Honestly? We’ve asked ourselves that quite often. Is it the projects? The experience? The customers? The ideas? Yes. Certainly also. But in the end, it’s the people. The people who discuss, design, develop, plan and sometimes find solutions at half past one in the morning when it should have been over long ago.
People with attitude. With humor. With ambition.
And with the will to do things really well.
And that’s exactly why we want to showcase them here.

Our Milestones
Founding
2013
When Alex and Jo had the ambitious idea in May 2013 that Munich really needed yet another agency, the name came quickly: WEDER & NØCH. Legend has it the decision was made standing at the bar.
Agency life at its best
2015
Long days, short nights, barbecues in the backyard, PlayStation sessions and friends constantly dropping by – and in the middle of it all a team that holds its ground, wins pitches and brings the first well-known, larger brands on board.
Hamburg office opens
2016
Many clients – and a lot of gastronomy – are based in Hamburg, so a north–south axis became inevitable. The Hamburg office opens – and is still run today by Jo’s sister Steffi.
5 years of WEDER & NØCH
2018
The agency celebrates its fifth anniversary and has grown organically to a team of 16. Stories about the anniversary party – especially the “Faxe” episode – are still doing the rounds.
Burghausen office opens
2019
The office in the town with the world’s longest castle becomes the second-largest location and brings us physically closer to many of our Austrian clients.
10 years of WEDER & NØCH
2023
With a team of around 30 people, the tenth anniversary is celebrated in style together with friends and partners in Burghausen.
We become MATTER & LØUT
2024
The wild, unconventional, loud side is still part of who we are – but the team has grown with the agency, and so have our expertise and our standards. We are aiming higher: expanding our client base beyond Germany’s borders.
